In Venturelytic we have defined three account types. In Salesforce also called 'Recordtypes'. Each recordtype has it's own layout containing components and data points only relevant to that type of account. Most of the components and datapoint are shared between the account recordtypes, meaning that they are available on all three of the accounts.
The three record types we have in Venturelytic are:
- Venture: Any potential, current or former investment target/portfolio company
- Investor: Fellow investment companies that either manages venture funds (GPs) or invest on a fund to fund basis (LPs)
- Other: Any other relevant company that you would like to track. This could be for example any advisor or legal firm.
Every time when adding a new account, the user must choose one of these record types. Based on the record type chosen, the configured fields for that recordtype show up to be filled in.
